It involves the continous flow of blood throughout the body, delivering oxygen and vital nutrients to organs and tissues. Checking for a pulse, signs of a heartbeat or signs of severe bleeding helps responders to determine if circulation is intact. If circulation is compromised, initiating CPR can immediately help maintain blood flow and oxygen supply until professional medical help arrives.
